The US State Department has postponed H-1B visa interviews in India that were scheduled for later this month, sparking anxiety among Indian applicants who were preparing to appear for their temporary work-visa appointments. The last-minute change, coming amid enhanced social-media scrutiny, sparked chaos among Indian visa applicants.
The US Embassy in India on Tuesday night issued an advisory to visa applicants informing them that their visa appointments had been rescheduled.
"ATTENTION VISA APPLICANTS – If you have received an email advising that your visa appointment has been rescheduled, Mission India looks forward to assisting you on your new appointment date. Arriving on your previously scheduled appointment date will result in your being denied admittance to the Embassy or Consul
