BATAVIA — Expanding Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel as a premier entertainment destination would mean more money to distribute to Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation’s 17 member municipalities, WROTB’s president and CEO told local Rotarians.

“We know that demand for entertainment, dining, racing, events and gaming continues to rise in the community, and we are now reaching the limits of our existing footprint,” President and CEO Byron Brown said Tuesday at the Rotary Club of Batavia’s meeting. “Oftentimes, we have to turn away events. Oftentimes, our hotel is sold out and we can’t sell hotel rooms.”
