PELLSTON – When Josh Grondin was in middle school, he saw what successful basketball looked like.
Following the Pellston Hornets – led by then-star Blake Cassidy , who went on to play basketball at Lake Superior State – the young basketball junkie enjoyed what he was watching.
So, he wanted to be a part of it.
“That’s one of the main reasons why I decided to come here,” Grondin said. “I’m trying to get up there on that banner with (Cassidy), so hopefully if things go well, I’ll join him up there.”
What Grondin’s referring to is the 1,000-point banner occupied by Cassidy and many other former Pellston stars who reached the milestone. Having been on Pellston’s varsity team since his freshman year, Grondin, now a senior, is on his way to adding his name to that banner.
