Frederick City Council Member Katie Nash’s job as a lobbyist is being scrutinized as she prepares for a second term on the council, with concerns that she might have connections to data centers that present a conflict of interest.

This comes as a vote for the next City Council president nears on Thursday. Nash and fellow Council Member Derek Shackelford, both Democrats, have both publicly declared their intent to seek the position, which is chosen in a council vote.
