MANSFIELD, La. - A driver was arrested after a pursuit on Interstate 49 early Monday morning. The chase began after a DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office deputy found a man parked in the median, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Shortly after 3:30, a patrol sergeant saw a white sedan parked in the median while she was headed to a separate scene. She requested a nearby patrol unit to check on the driver.

When a deputy arrived, he found Tracarlos Audra McNeil, 49, of Houston, sitting in the driver's seat. McNeil was naked and authorities say he appeared to be under the influence of drugs or experiencing a mental episode.

“They spent several minutes trying to talk with him… to get him out of the vehicle safely,” DeSoto sheriff's Capt. Michael Dunn said.
