Early redistricting has been the most divisive issue for Indiana Republicans since the infamous Religious Freedom Restoration Act. It's only appropriate that former Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard has reentered the arena.

As lawmakers weighed fracturing Indianapolis into four congressional districts in order to help national Republicans retain a House majority in next year's midterm elections, Ballard wrote in IndyStar that redistricting is "a shortsighted mistake that undermines our voice, weakens our community and threatens the main economic engine of our state."
