JACKSON — The City of Jackson is hosting a community open house on Wednesday, December 10 at the Heritage Building (401 E. Capitol Street). Community members can drop-in anytime during the afternoon session 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The event will feature design sketches to show ideas for improving safety, comfort, connection, and vibrancy of the Fondren, Belhaven, Downtown and Jackson State University (JSU) areas. This includes developing housing, commercial, and green spaces on currently vacant and underutilized land; and designing streets that encourage walking or rolling, biking, and riding transit, by addressing shade, sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes, and smooth roads.
