CANTON ‒ The Stark County Prosecutor's Office hopes to implement a new evidence software system that will improve communication with law enforcement.
County Prosecutor Kyle Stone said the technology from company Axon will streamline evidence sharing and storage.
Cases that come through the prosecutor's office almost always include digital evidence.
"As time has progressed and technology has enhanced, there's almost no criminal case that doesn't have some kind of digital evidentiary component," Stark County Administrator Brant Luther said.
Stone's office made a pitch to purchase the software during recent county budget discussions with commissioners.
The first year cost and installation is nearly $90,000. The request to purchase the software will be included on the 2026 Stark County
