EAST LANSING – While Tom Izzo was wrapping up an angry press conference, Jaxon Kohler sat calmly in the locker room a floor below at the Breslin Center.
The Michigan State senior forward was obviously disappointed following a 66-60 loss against Duke on Saturday for the team’s first defeat of the season but has been in this spot before.
“In these four years, you really learn how to turn a negative into a positive,” Kohler said. “For today, it would have been great to win that game and I honestly think we could have and should have but, you know what, it didn’t turn out that way and now you’ve got to face reality that we don’t have our streak anymore.
“The way to look at it now is, so what? Now, I think the loss could actually be really beneficial to our team more than people realize.”
