PHOENIX — A hiker who has been stuck on top of Camelback Mountain in Phoenix since around 8 p.m. on Tuesday has been rescued safely. Sky12 footage shows the moment the hiker was rescued.
Around 8:15 p.m., technical crews were called to a report of a hiker stuck on top of the mountain.
Fire crews responded to Echo Canyon Trail, but had to delay their rescue efforts due to no visibility.
Overnight, a drone was used to get the hiker a phone, food, and water while he was waiting to be rescued.
As of 7:20 a.m., a Phoenix Police Department helicopter was on the scene of Echo Canyon Trail, and operations had begun.
As of 9 a.m., the hiker was rescued.
Echo Canyon Trail has been closed for months due to operations to stabilize the rocks .
