Two local media legends with deep roots in the Hamilton community joined hands yesterday in a partnership that aims to benefit both brands’ popularity and reach.

Starting this week, local television heavyweight CHCH-TV’s evening news at 6 p.m. will air live on relaunched radio station 1150 CKOC every weekday, bringing two iconic brands together in a mutually beneficial relationship.

“We thought it was a great idea,” Greg O’Brien, news director at CHCH-TV, told The Spectator. “It would help get our news a little broader reach and expand our listener base.”

The program will be aired in its entirety for the radio audience simultaneously with the CHCH-TV broadcast originating from the television station’s Hamilton studios.
