SRINAGAR : Jammu and Kashmir has been allocated Rs 57.3 crore under the Nirbhaya Fund over the last five years to enhance safety and security measures for women and girls in the Union Territory, according to a reply in the Rajya Sabha by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The non-lapsable fund, established by the Central Government, supports initiatives such as One Stop Centres, women helplines, emergency response systems, and other protection measures, with implementation overseen by the UT administration in coordination with central ministries.
