LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Nearly 4 million Michiganders will be traveling for the holidays from December 20th to January 1st, according to AAA.

Nationally, more than 122 million people are expected to travel for Christmas and New Year’s, breaking last year’s record of 119 million.

The majority of people will be traveling by car. AAA recommends making sure your car is ready beforehand to avoid any issues during travel.

For those planning to fly, AAA advises arriving at the airport at least two hours before your flight and signing up for airline alerts in case of any delays or cancellations.
