CHAMARAJANAGAR: In a heartwarming turn of events, school students from Pacchedoddi village in Hanur taluk, who had to walk 7 km through the forest to attend school, now have a jeep to take them to school.

The children had been facing difficulties commuting to school, and had even written to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah seeking help. After Public TV reported on their difficulties, the Forest department has stepped in to provide them with a safari jeep for travel to school and back home.

Deputy Conservator of Forests Bhaskar, who visited the village on Monday, has decided to write to the district deputy commissioner to return the Jana Vana vehicle to the department for transporting the children.
