The RAC has weighed in on the ongoing discussion regarding whether motorists genuinely save cash by filling up at Tesco, Sainsbury's or Asda. Whilst numerous drivers opt for supermarket forecourts, the question remains: are they actually more economical?
According to the RAC , both petrol and diesel could be as much as 4p per litre less expensive at supermarket pumps compared to dedicated fuel retailers. Given that all fuel sold across the UK must adhere to identical legal standards, supermarket petrol poses no greater risk to your vehicle than branded alternatives.
