Sara Francis was 11 weeks pregnant when she lost the baby she had already come to love.
He was her fifth child. She named him Jude.
“It was devastating, and I really felt a loss of identity. I really questioned my ability to be a good mom. I felt ashamed that my body had let me down,” said Francis.
In the thick of her grief, Francis struggled to find a formal resting place for Jude. She didn’t want to cremate him. So, she buried him in her backyard, where he would be close by.
But she always worried what would happen if they moved houses or if there was a flood.
Now, seven years later, Francis finally has a safe place to lay Jude to rest for good.
