REDDING, Calif. - A major mental health proposal in Shasta County is gaining attention once more. Supervisor Matt Plummer hosted a community open house to discuss the Far North Behavioral Health Campus, a project that was initially rejected earlier this year but is now seeing renewed interest.

The meeting took place Monday night, where attendees learned about the project, which aims to establish a full-service mental health care campus. It would offer crisis care, inpatient services, and long-term treatment options for the region.

The proposed campus has a price tag of more than $200 million. Developers are seeking about $165 million in state funding through Proposition 1, with the rest of the costs to be covered by partner agencies and private support.
