Robbie Keane insists there were no talks about replacing Brendan Rodgers as Celtic boss – but the Irishman hasn’t ruled out the possibility of one day making a dream return to Parkhead, writes Andy Newport in Budapest. ‌

The Ferencvaros gaffer was rumoured to be among the runners and riders to take over at his former club following Rodgers ’ sudden departure at the end of October. ‌

The ex-Spurs, Liverpool and Inter Milan star spent six months on loan with the Hoops back in 2010 and was tipped to be on the shortlist to take over at Celtic Park following a successful start to his managerial career in Israel and Hungary. ‌

Keane , 45, won a league title Maccabi Tel Aviv and followed it up with another championship triumph last year in Budapest.
