The Trump administration plans to make it a must for foreign tourists to provide five years of their social media history before being allowed to enter the US, according to a notice published in the Federal Register. This comes even as H-1B visa interviews in India have been put off till March amid widened social media scrutiny.

US Customs and Border Protection "is adding social media as a mandatory data element" as part of the screening process for travellers entering the US under the Visa Waiver Programme, Bloomberg reported, citing a Department of Homeland Security notice posted on Wednesday.
