Agartala, 10 th December 2025: Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder on Wednesday inspected the Nagicherra Fish Transhipment Yard on the outskirts of the capital to review its operations and identify gaps in its current functioning. During the visit, he held discussions with officials and members of the yard’s managing committee to evaluate the available infrastructure and service delivery.

The Mayor told reporters that the facility was created to divert the unloading of fish-laden trucks from the city’s congested markets, a move aimed at reducing traffic pressure and improving hygiene standards in urban commercial zones.
