Sophie Kinsella, who wrote the Confessions of a Shopaholic book series , has died at 55, according to her family. She was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2022.
The British author, whose real name was Madeleine Wickham, was best known for her Shopaholic series, which she wrote under a pen name. The nine novels followed the life and misadventures of Becky Bloomwood, a financial journalist with a shopping addiction. The first two books were made into the 2009 movie Confessions of a Shopaholic , which starred Isla Fisher.
