Appearing both perfectly at home and slightly otherworldly in an 'underrated' Edinburgh neighbourhood, a new bar is quietly reshaping what a night out in the capital can look like.
The brainchild of Italian-born Fabio Di Silvestro, Kome Izakaya is a relaxed, cocktail and sake-led drinking spot with an intriguing menu of Japanese snacks, from okonomiyaki to yakitori skewers.
Launched in late summer, it occupies a space somewhere between a restaurant and modern cocktail bar, described as ‘a place to linger after dinner, share small plates with friends, and discover the warmth of Japanese hospitality in a contemporary setting’.
