(KIMT) -- After Tuesday night into Wednesday morning's travel mess, we are tracking yet another system that could bring a fresh layer of snow to our snowpack.

A clipper system will arrive to SE Minnesota and North Iowa Thursday afternoon and will linger into the overnight hours. Forcing in the upper layers of our atmosphere will create a narrow snow band somewhere over the region.

That snow band will result in localized higher totals where a wide blanket of 1-3" could fall through early Friday morning.

The location of this snow band is still unknown and will become more clearly understood in the coming hours.
