Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been ruled out for Sunday's (December 14) game against the NFC East Division rival New York Giants, head coach Dan Quinn told reporters on Wednesday (December 10) via NFL Network 's Ian Rapoport .
Daniels, 24, the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, has dealt with several injuries during his second NFL season, having suffered a "setback" to his previously injured left elbow during last Sunday's (December 7) loss to the Minnesota Vikings, which was his first start since November 2.
" #Commanders coach Dan Quinn announced that Marcus Mariota will start this Sunday vs. the #Giants , while QB Jayden Daniels has been ruled out, despite no structural damage to his elbow. Just a setback," Rapoport wrote on his X account.
