TIGARD, Ore — Tigard City Council has appointed one of their own as the next mayor. During a meeting Tuesday evening, the council selected Yi-Kang Hu as the new mayor, effective immediately. He will carry out the remainder of former mayor Heidi Lueb's term, through December 2026.

Lueb resigned from the role in September, and Tigard City Council President Maureen Wolf acted as mayor pro tem. In a lengthy post on her website, Lueb cited multiple issues, including conflicting dynamics within the city government between herself, other councilors and city staff.
