GALION, Ohio (WOIO) - The skeletal remains discovered in the detached garage of an abandoned Galion house have been identified as a Crawford County man who had been missing for over two years.

On Dec. 7, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting the discovery of possible human skeletal remains in an abandoned garage on Crestline-Blooming Grove Road.

Deputies arrived on scene and confirmed that the skeletal remains were consistent with human remains.

On Dec. 8, Richland County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives, Richland County Coroner’s Office Investigators, along with Mercyhurst University’s Forensic Anthropology Team and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation & Identification’s Crime Scene Units processed the scene and worked to identify the remains.
