An integrity commissioner has dismissed as “frivolous” and “vexatious” a resident’s complaint that Niagara Falls Coun. Mike Strange was out of line when he alluded to a criminal charge against him during a meeting earlier this year.
The commissioner also accused the complainant of making a “public spectacle” of the process, turning it into a “self-glorifying photo-op.”
Joedy Burdett filed a complaint with the city’s integrity commissioner, alleging Strange breached the city’s code of conduct, and that bylaw breaches and potential violations of the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act and human rights law came into play.
The complaint accused Strange of acting in “personal pecuniary and reputational interests” when he spoke during a July meeting .
