The clock is ticking for those looking to get a slice of the $500-million bread price fixing class action settlement with Loblaw, the largest in Canadian history.

Canadian residents who purchased packaged bread — including bagged bread, buns, rolls, bagels, naan, English muffins, wraps, pita and tortillas — from the grocery giant have until Friday to file a claim for compensation.

Jay Strosberg, the lawyer who represented plaintiffs in the lawsuit against Loblaw, told the Star in November this settlement claim against Loblaw and its parent company George Weston Ltd. sends a strong message to big corporations and those who violate the competition act.
