NEW CASTLE, Ind. — Police say shoplifting at a New Castle shoe store led to two different police chases as the suspects allegedly tried to get away with about $1200 is clothes.
On Tuesday, Dec. 10, around 2:30 p.m., a worker at Hibbett Sports in New Castle told police that a woman and two men had come to the store. While a worker was trying to get shoes for the woman, the men allegedly grabbed armfuls of clothes and ran out the door.
As police were responding to the call, they spotted a vehicle that matched the description the workers had given them. The vehicle didn't stop when an officer turned on his police lights, and allegedly began weaving through the shopping center parking lot.
