MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin women's basketball team definitely had their coffee Wednesday morning.

Tipping off at 11 a.m., the Badgers were more than ready as they put up an impressive defensive effort to beat San Diego, 74-46, at the Kohl Center. Destiny Howell led the Badgers with 14 points, shooting 6-10 from the field and 2-5 from three-point range.

The Badgers were suffocating on defense, forcing the Toreros to commit 22 turnovers and scoring 33 points off of those extra chances. Wisconsin also limited San Diego to just 5 second-chance points.

Wisconsin out-rebounded San Diego 38-31, with Gift Uchenna grabbing six boards. To break things down even further, the Badgers grabbed 19 offensive rebounds while the Toreros only had 8.
