MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Catherine Hoggle, a mother accused of murdering her two children 10 years ago, is finally fit to stand trial, a Montgomery County judge said Wednesday.
Hoggle is accused of killing Sarah and Jacob Hoggle back in 2014. The children were last seen on Sept. 7, 2014, and their mother was reportedly the last person seen with them.
Their bodies have never been found.
For the past two days, the Court heard from two forensic psychiatrists who were called to present their expertise surrounding Hoggle’s competency.
Dr. Nicole Johnson, who works at the Clifton Perkins Hospital Center, where Hoggle is being held, says the 39-year-old suffers from schizophrenia and psychotic ambivalence and is not competent to stand trial, and wouldn't be able to assist in her own defense.
