Following Saturday's bus crash in Lakewood that sent 13 Central High School wrestlers and two Central wrestling coaches to the hospital, where three students remain hospitalized, Mesa County Valley School District 51 Superintendent Brian Hill has released a statement to district families.

Hill read his statement at the start of Tuesday evening's D51 Board of Education meeting at R-5 High School.

His statement reads:

“I want to start with gratitude for the folks who have helped throughout this situation. From staff, to students, to families, to members of our community, to first responders, and even leadership from other districts who have reached out to offer support. We have a caring community, and it shows, especially in times like these.”
