It will be a good news story for Woodstock residents who would see no impact on their tax bill if city council decides to expands the city’s landmark park, Southside.
The proposal to expand the park – at an expected cost $240,000 in 2026, with a further $560,000 over the next two years – is included in the city’s proposed capital budget for 2026.

Southside Park would be extended into the former Cedar Creek golf course that closed in 2017, an area of about 26 hectares, if the budget passes Thursday.
