GLENWOOD — The Minnewaska Area girls basketball team successfully rode momentum from a strong victory on the road into a key early-season home game.

The Lakers cruised past Litchfield 74-38 on Monday, Dec. 8 at the Minnewaska Area High School gymnasium in a matchup between Section 3AA opponents. All three of the Lakers wins early in the season have been by a winning margin of at least 36 points, including their recent road win over Montevideo and their opener against Lac qui Parle Valley.

Minnewaska raced out to a 54-17 lead by halftime, spurred on by an eventual 45% shooting percentage and a 45% mark from the three-point line. In addition, Litchfield was held to only 28% shooting for the game and committed 29 total turnovers on the floor.
