CARLOS — The woman accused of allegedly striking a natural gas overflow pipe with her car has been charged with two counts of third degree driving while impaired.
Samantha Jo Porter, 42, of Alexandria, was charged with the crimes, both gross misdemeanors, in Douglas County District Court on Dec. 4.
The maximum sentence for each count is 364 days in jail and/or a $3,000 fine.
A release order was filed in the case on Dec. 4, as well, and read that Porter must post an unconditional cash bail or surety bond in the amount of $12,000.
Porter must also follow a number of release conditions, including submitting to a program of electronic alcohol monitoring.
Porter's first court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 17 at the Douglas County Courthouse.
