A former TV producer accused of posing as a wealthy heiress is now among the FBI’s Most Wanted, and authorities say she’s on the run after allegedly stealing millions.
Mary Carole McDonnell, once CEO of Bellum Entertainment, was added to the FBI’s Most Wanted list in December 2025.
According to the FBI, the 73-year-old McDonnell is accused of pretending to be an heiress to the McDonnell Douglas fortune and using that claim to obtain more than $15 million in loans fraudulently.
The Daily Voice has learned that McDonnell falsely told banks that she had access to an $80 million “secret” trust fund. She used those claims to secure major loans for her struggling TV production company around 2017. Investigators say the trust fund never existed.
McDonnell’s biggest alleged victim was Banc of California, which she bilked out of about $14.7 million. Several other financial institutions were targeted as well. The money, authorities say, was never repaid.
After being indicted on fraud and identity theft charges in 2018, McDonnell vanished and reportedly fled the country. The FBI believes she may be hiding in Dubai. In addition to Los Angeles, she also has ties to Montgomery, Alabama.
She is 5-foot-7, around 145 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
McDonnell’s case has drawn comparisons to the infamous Anna Sorokin, also known as Anna Delvey, who was convicted in 2019 after posing as a German heiress and scamming New York’s elite.
The FBI warns that McDonnell may continue using her fake heiress persona to access more funds.
Anyone with information on Mary Carole McDonnell’s whereabouts is urged to contact the FBI.
