TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - She’s only known as “Jane Tucson doe 1979” in various law enforcement and missing persons databases.

And there’s a tragic story behind her death.

On November 1st 1979, the mostly nude body of an unidentified female between 17 and 22 years old was found near the intersection of SR 83 and Old Sonoita Hwy.

Officials say it appeared she was dumped where she was found, and it’s believed to be a homicide.

The Pima County Medical Examiner says the victim died from multiple gunshot wounds to head and neck.

Aside from a few items of clothing, she had no other personal belongings.

The woman had dental restorations in one of her front teeth that had broken off and investigators believe she is of Honduran ancestry.
