The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 2:41 p.m. on Wednesday in effect until Thursday at 1 a.m. for Montgomery, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany and Greene counties.
"Additional snow accumulations up to 1 inches to 3 inches," can be expected according to the weather service. "We have received snowfall reports of up to around 3 inches in this area so far, with additional amounts up to 1 to 3 inches through this evening."
"Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening commute," states the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling."
