Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore was fired Wednesday for being involved in an “inappropriate relationship” with a staffer, the school announced.

Moore, 39, was fired for cause.

“Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior,” athletic director Warde Manuel said in a statement.

Moore was named the head coach at Michigan in January 2024 after Jim Harbaugh had departed to take over the head coaching position with the Chargers.
