BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - An officer was hit by a vehicle and police fired on two suspects during a traffic stop Wednesday in Batesburg-Leesville, according to authorities.
It happened around noon in the 100 block of West Church Street, according to police.

South Carolina health officials are reporting 27 new measles cases since Friday in an ongoing outbreak.
The vehicle was suspected to be linked to criminal activity at businesses in Lexington County, according to police.
During the stop, the driver of the vehicle tried to flee the scene, striking one officer and almost striking the other, according to authorities.
The officers fired at the suspects, police said.
