Organized search efforts conclude for man last seen at Lake Afton, sheriff's office says

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) – The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office concluded its organized search operations for Ian Shelton on Wednesday following several days of large-scale coordinated efforts in and around Lake Afton Park and southwest Sedgwick County, the department announced.

Deputies, detectives, and partner agencies conducted multiple searches of Lake Afton Park , including boat searches of the lake, ground searches by foot and K-9 teams, mounted searches on horseback, and extensive aerial searches by multiple drone units, the sheriff’s office said.

These operations covered approximately 3.5 square miles of park property and more than 15 miles of roadway right-of-way, including ditches, bridges, culverts, and areas along the Ninnescah River.
