Season 1 of The Pitt” hinted at some major cast exits . So, is Dr. Frank Langdon (Patrick Ball) returning for season 2?

Langdon, a senior resident at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, was caught stealing prescription painkillers and benzodiazepines during season 1. Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch ( Noah Wyle ), the Head of the Emergency Department, dismissed Langdon, but his medical career isn’t over.

Season 2 of “The Pitt,” which is set to premiere on Jan. 8, 2026, takes place 10 months after the season 1 finale. Episode 1 marks Langdon’s first day back in the emergency room after completing a 10-month stint in rehab.
