President Donald Trump wants to change the name of football to something more appropriate.

Naturally, me being an arbiter of sports, I have some ideas.

Let’s be perfectly clear about this. Trump’s war on football is a gross perversion of the American Dream. First it was the Gulf of Mexico, and now this.

I remember when football used to be the sport of Bear Bryant and Pop Warner, of Diego Pavia and Doug Flutie, of Dick Butkus and Lawrence Taylor. Soccer was the game played by Lionel Messi and David Beckham.

Not anymore.

President Gerald Ford played football at Michigan … until now.

The current Commander in Chief is changing things around ahead of this summer’s World Cup. Soccer is now football in America. Football is something else. Why? According to Trump,
