A Québec man has been arrested by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) for human trafficking offences that have taken place in Calgary.
Two suspected victims were identified and provided support resources through ALERT’s Safety Network Coordinator.
The home in the Beltline neighbourhood of Calgary was searched where evidence of drug trafficking was discovered. Small amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine were seized, along with a replica handgun.
22-year-old Xavier Herbert was arrested and charged with material benefit from sexual services, procuring and advertising of sexual services, drug trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.
An 18-year-old associate of Herbert’s was also arrested at the home and charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of traffick
