WASHINGTON —
In Washington, President Donald Trump answered reporters' questions following a roundtable discussion with business and tech leaders Wednesday.
The president answered questions about affordability and Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits meant to keep healthcare costs down.
On Capitol Hill, some Senate Republicans are proposing a change that would impact ACA premiums , allowing current tax subsidies to expire. Instead, the plan calls for a deposit of at least $1,000 into certain patients' health savings accounts (HSA).
When asked by Hearst Washington Correspondent Amy Lu about the proposal, Trump did not specifically address whether he thought the $1,000 was sufficient.
"It used to be called affordable, but it was never affordable," Trump said, criticizing the ACA. "
