ANNAPOLIS, Md. —

Gov. Wes Moore called a special session scheduled for next week for the Maryland General Assembly.

The session will be to choose a new House speaker but replacing current speaker Adrienne Jones might not be the only item on the agenda.

The House is constitutionally required to take up veto overrides. Although there is no list out yet, the consensus is that the governor's veto of a reparations bill is expected to top the agenda. In addition, the rare meeting also opens the door to consider other issues.
