Syracuse, N.Y. – A 91-year-old widow will be paid nearly $3 million in a legal settlement that will get her out of a home on the site where Micron Technology plans to build a massive semiconductor plant in Clay.
The Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency is scheduled to vote Thursday (Dec. 11) on a deal that would pay Azalia King $450,000 to move out of a home owned by the agency on Caughdenoy Road and $2.5 million for 6 acres of land she owns across the street.
If approved by the agency, the deal will end a legal battle over King’s occupation of a home that she and her late husband, Glenn, sold to the agency in 2005 for $330,750.
The 2005 deal included an agreement giving the Kings the right to continue living in the home until they died. Glenn King died in 2015.
