WORCESTER, Mass. —
Crews worked throughout the day on Wednesday to make repairs after the second water main break along Worcester's Shore Drive in less than a week.
The first break was reported early Saturday morning, and the latest occurred Wednesday morning at the intersection of the I-190 Southbound Frontage Road and Shore Drive near the YMCA, city officials said.
While the break was isolated in the morning, city officials warned that it could take all day for pressure to fully recover. Residents were also warned to expect discolored water.
Video from Sky5 showed a sinkhole formed in the area.
Worcester police said officers are on scene directing traffic around the closures after “two water main breaks,” adding that recovery could last all day and overnight, according to a post sha
