BILLINGS, Mont. – As Montana faces colder temperatures, local fire departments and heating companies are urging residents to take precautions.

The Lockwood Fire Department and White Heating and Air Conditioning in Billings have noticed a familiar pattern. When the cold arrives, so do the calls for help.

Fire officials emphasize the necessity of taking simple precautions to prevent winter emergencies. Space heaters, for example, can become dangerous if not used correctly.
