University of Virginia head coach Tony Elliott has been named the Bobby Ross Coach of the Year by the Touchdown Club of Richmond.
The award recognizes the top Division I football coach in Virginia.
Elliott has guided the Cavaliers to a 10-3 record and an ACC championship game appearance. UVA will play Missouri in the Gator Bowl on Dec. 27 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Four Cavaliers players — Chandler Morris (quarterback), Trell Harris (offensive end), Kam Robinson (linebacker) and Cam Ross (return specialist) — each earned player of the year honors at their respective positions.
William & Mary cornerback Jalen Jones (Deep Creek) was the Defensive Back of the Year.
